This song was first released as a single in 1971. Fan’s comments: Kevin Irwin - the singalong favourite for most Mungo
fans. Creates a special warm feeling when you're singing a refrain with
Ray. John van der Kiste - 1970's rock fans who don't like (or
are tired of) In The Summertime generally choose this as their fave MJ
song. They're in good company - so did Paul King. Adrian Tanner - I've heard quite a few variations of this
song from Ray, but I think the best one is on the Boot Power album. It's a
really original tune and once you hum a few bars, most people recognise
it.
LADY ROSE (Ray Dorset)
On the dark
nights, by the firelight,
I’ll see her face before my eyes,
Lady Rose, Lady Rose,
Oh Lady, my Rose, my Lady Rose.
From the shadows to the bright lights,
From the dark nights to the sunrise,
Lady Rose, Lady Rose,
Oh Lady, my Rose, my Lady Rose.
Lost in memories of the moment,
Of the times when, of the days when,
Lady Rose, Lady Rose,
Oh Lady, my Rose, my Lady Rose.
